President/CEO Leaves Kids Matter

Southlake, Texas:       Joseph R King,  who has served as President/CEO of Kids Matter since 2006,  announced that he is leaving his post at the end of September 2016 after more than 10 years leading the charity which is based in Southlake, Texas.

Mike Parham, Chairman, Kids Matter Board of Directors stated, “Joe is one of the original founders of Kids Matter International, a non-profit charity serving thousands of children in need throughout the United States and Internationally.  During his tenure as President/CEO, he built Kids Matter into the organization it is today with a mission of providing needed programs, services, clothing, food, and financial support to disadvantaged children.”

“Joe brought decades of non-profit experience and expertise to Kids Matter International.  He established innovative programs and collaborative relationships with various partners such as Kohl’s, Barbara Bush Foundation For Family Literacy,  Buckner Foundation, Ryan Palmer Foundation, Heart Of A Champion, and many other non-profit organizations and corporate partners. Through these relationships, thousands of children benefit on an annual basis, by receiving clothing, shoes, school supplies, backpacks,  food baskets, books, bicycles, and toys.   In addition, schools in 26 states that serve under-privileged children, teach character building traits to instill leadership skills in the next generation of children,” stated Parham.

“It has been my honor and privilege to work with passionate people who invest their time and resources to help children in need.  I am proud of the work we have done together over this past decade and I am especially proud that I was able to help make a positive and significant impact on the lives of so many children.  There is no greater reward than to see the smiles and hear the laughter of children who are in such dire need,”   stated Joe King.

“Taking the helm as President/CEO in October is Marti Conner, who served as an alternate Board Member for over five years, Chaired the Marketing Committee for four years, and is actively involved as a volunteer for the charity.   She brings over 30 years of marketing, strategic planning and branding experience.  We are very excited to have Marti as our new leader as we enter into our next decade of serving children,” stated Parham.
