Kids Matter sponsors and supports the annual Lone Star Artist Award with Representative Giovanni Capriglione from District 98 of the Texas House of Representatives.
The Grand Prize Winner from the Youth Art in the Square Competition will receive the Lone Star Artist Award. Youth Art in the Square provides aspiring high school artists with an invaluable opportunity to participate in and learn the mechanics of a world-class art festival. This competition is held annually in partnership with the annual Southlake Art In The Square Festival.
The Grand Prize Winner will have their work placed in the Texas State Capitol building, along with hotel accommodations for two nights in Austin and a VIP tour of the Capitol courtesy of State Representative Giovanni Capriglione and Kids Matter International.
The art contest allows young artists the chance to showcase their work locally, as well as the chance to be recognized at the national level for their talent and creativity. Hundreds of entries are submitted each year from students in the area to showcase their artistic capabilities.
Kids Matter is proud to sponsor a local program that invests in the creativity and talents of students in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. With budget cuts at the state, federal and local levels, the school arts programs, such as music, painting, and theatre are being pushed aside. We believe these are necessary for the total development of a child; So it is with great pleasure that we support this most worthwhile effort.
At Kids Matter we believe in living and acting by faith and wisdom—not out of fear. We recognize that there is a lot of anxiety in the world right now, and for good reason. The COVID-19 outbreak is challenging each of us to modify our lifestyle and take extra steps to remain safe. Here we have staff members whose children’s schools have been temporarily closed, and like all of you we are committed to helping slow the spread of this illness. For this reason, our physical office space will have limited open hours until further notice. Thank you for your faithful support. Stay happy and healthy! 😊”
