RAMP UP READING VOLUNTEER

The Ramp Up Reading Literacy Program raises awareness and excitement about the importance of reading and literacy in today's youth. This summer and back-to-school program allows volunteers to spend time reading aloud to the children and encouraging them to explore the adventures that books can bring. Being able to give each child a book enhanced the program by promoting family literacy at home. We hope that by putting these books into the hands of young children, we will inspire their hearts and minds to grow.

In addition to Kohl's employees, Kids Matter volunteers also give their time and efforts to directly impact the kids. Get involved today and make a difference!

We partner with the Colleyville/Grapevine Independent School District for their Homework Buddies Program through the school year. If you want to significantly impact the life of a child, then become a Homework Buddy. There are so many first through fourth graders in the Colleyville/Grapevine Independent School District system who need help with their homework with emphasis on reading and comprehension skills. You don’t need to have any special certifications. What we need are enthusiastic, engaged, and dedicated volunteers who are ready to help a child.

When: Volunteers are needed each semester of the school year.
Time: 3:00 – 6:00 pm, Monday – Thursday (volunteers are asked to commit to 1 day/week or more per semester)
